Explore Falinge

The community platform Explore Falinge, launched at The Odean Cinema in Rochdale Last night. Danny Lomax from Glass Eye Productions produced a trailer for the full feature movie that was shown that can be viewed here. Monster attack designed the platform in collaboration with Glass Eye. The stories document the renovation to the estate through the lives of the residents. They serve to highlight the strength and inspiring spirit of the community along with the hardwork of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, Link4Life and Rochdale Pride Partnership.

Monster attack and glass eye productions hope to expand the platform to document and link the stories of other communities using the neighbourhub portal.

Juice Sustainable Innovation Workshop 2010

Monster Attack organised the first Annual Sustainable Innovation Workshop at the University of Reading. Research Engineers at the TSBE centre were invited to develop sustainable innovation ideas. Proposals were made for a new wind turbine design, a lemon battery PV array prototyping tool and a physical computing interface for building energy use. The link below describes Marek Kubik's exciting design for a geodesic dome made from bamboo and tennis balls, that could be used in disaster relief.

We would like to thank Caversham Lawn Tennis Club for kindly donating used tennis balls for the project and the University of Reading for supporting the workshop. We are looking forward to Juice 2011!
